After Albert’s beloved horse, Joey, is sold to the cavalry, he decides to enlist himself to serve in World War I. The story follows Joey’s journey on the front lines and the hearts he touches along the way.
Tilsey Farm, in Bramley, is transformed into an authentic French farmstead. While Bourne Wood, in Farnham, is turned into an army camp and Wisley’s disused airfield as war trenches. Scenes were also filmed at Longcross Film Studios for this Spielberg production.
